Meet our Chief Pilot, Moses Msuya, an International aeronaut with licenses in Tanzania, Canada, the USA, Kenya, and Myanmar. With 28 years of experience flying hot air balloons and over 3900 hours of flight time, Moses is one of the most experienced pilots in the skies. A former Civil Engineering Technician, Moses followed his passion for flying balloons in his father’s country, Tanzania.
Moses is known for his love of controlling the balloon with the different winds and feeling one with nature. One of his most memorable flights was watching a young impala being chased by a hyena, only to be snatched away by a leopard who quickly climbed a tree with his prey.
When he’s not soaring through the skies, Moses enjoys yoga, playing guitar, and pursuing his love of design and innovation
He dispels the myth that you must be fearless of heights to fly and says that it’s the most peaceful sensation once you’re in the air, just drifting with the wind. Moses’ favorite quote is, “We follow no road!” and he truly believes that there’s nothing like the experience of floating over the earth, following the wind.
We had the pleasure of experiencing Moses piloting brilliance in Myanmar and were nothing short of amazed as to his skill in the air. Moses has a highly affable personality coupled with an exceptional knowledge of his craft. These attributes make riding with him a fantastic experience. Tijdens onze groepsrondreis door Kenia, Tanzania en Zanzibar hebben we onze eerste ballonvaart via Miracle experience over de Serengeti gemaakt.
Alles is tot in de puntjes verzorgd, het ophalen met jeeps vanaf onze lodge, de ontvangst op de locatie, de sanitaire voorzieningen, de professionele veiligheidsinstructies.
Onze ballonvaart met Moses was in 1 woord geweldig. Het is goed te merken dat hij de nodige vlieguren heeft gemaakt, want de maniet waarop hij de ballon weet te besturen is ongelofelijk.
Soms zaten we zo laag boven de Serengeti dat je de bomen bijna kon aanraken.
Ook zijn kennis en gedrevenheid over de Serengeti is een toegevoegde waarde.
Na de ballonvaart krijg je een zeer uitgebreid en kwalitatief hoogwaardig ontbijt op een prachtige locatie.
Kortom het is ondanks de aanzienlijke kosten, een geweldige ervaring.
