Before visiting a foreign country like Swahili, understanding the native language and learning a few essential words are some of the most important items to pack in your bag. The good news? It doesn’t have to add any extra weight to your luggage allowance!

Whether you wish to carry a small phrasebook or learn a few essential phrases and everyday vocabulary beforehand, knowing a little bit of the language can enable you to get around the new country without difficulty. It can further enhance your holiday experience, allowing you to take a truly authentic trip.

Want to learn Swahili for your upcoming vacation in Tanzania? Hakuna Matata! (No Worries!) We are happy to help you out.

What is Swahili?

The Bantu language of Swahili, also known as Kiswahili, is spoken on the east coast of Africa in a region that stretches from Lamu Island, Kenya, in the north to Tanzania’s southern border in the south.

The history of the language itself is ancient. It has, however, changed into the form we hear today, like with all languages. It is a fusion of native African tongues and Arabic, English, Portuguese, and German influences.

How difficult is it to learn Swahili?

According to some, English speakers can learn Swahili the quickest of any African language. Like English, it is one of the few sub-Saharan African languages without lexical tones. Reading Swahili words out loud in their same written form makes it much simpler to read. Before your trip, you can practice the language by:

Twende tuanze! (Let’s begin!)

Now that you have a basic understanding of the Swahili language’s history let’s study some essential vocabulary and phrases to prepare for your upcoming safari!

Nestled between the Central Serengeti and Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kogatende is a rather small area that puts on quite a show. While it is breathtaking to observe the Great Wildebeest Migration galloping freely across the endless plains, the epic cycle of life demonstrated in Kogatende is usually action-packed and worth a visit. No matter, if you are attracted by the greatest movement of wild animals on earth or have a chance of spotting the Big Five, a Hot Air Balloon Flight over the Kogatende area, is sure to blow your mind.

What’s so special about Kogatende?

The Mara River Crossing

Found in the Kogatende region, the Mara River offers one of the most surreal views of the Great Wildebeest Migration. Every year, millions of mammals assemble on the banks of the river waiting to cross to the other side to reach greener pastures and fresh water. However, this part of their journey is often the most perilous as many will undoubtedly fall prey to the deadly Nile crocodiles which live within these borders. Attracted by the size of the wild animals, the huge reptiles of the river are not the only predators lurking ready for the kill. This gathering of mammals near the water source can sometimes be a real feast for lions, hyenas, leopards, and more.

Around the months of June to November, countless wild animals gather on the side of the river waiting for the first brave soul to attempt the crossing. It can often take days before the first few wildebeests make the jump into the dangerous waters and some others dare to follow suit. At this stage, it often takes quite a long time for the whole herd of Wildebeests to go through to the other side as they pass in a small trickle at a time. If you are lucky, you might catch the whole horde jumping in almost a single file into the rushing currents of the river as the urgency and the need for food are felt. Here the cycle of life will truly be witnessed as nature will take its expected toll on the herd.

Mara River Crossing at Kogatende Serengeti National park

The crossing along the Mara River happens in two different spots at different times during the migration. First, the wildebeest and their entourage travel across the river to reach the Kogatende region on their way up from Grumeti, then a second time as their attempt the long way back to Ndutu for the calving season. A common misconception is that the Mara River marks the boundary between Tanzania and Kenya. The river partially flows through both countries and wildebeests reaching the opposite bank on their way up from Grumeti and the Seronera region are actually still in Kogatende, Tanzania, before moving further into the Maasai Mara.

The Scenery

The region is also well-known for its beautiful changing landscape. From the shimmering Mara River, the tall acacia trees, and indigenous Kopjes scattered around the yellowed grass of the plains to the blooming flora of the Ngorongoro Crater, a safari across the area is a breathtaking experience. Whether you have booked a stay at one of the various luxury lodges in the area, plan a game drive in the bush, or take it all in from a safari in the sky with one of our hot air balloons, Kogatende and its neighboring areas simply do not disappoint.

Amazing Photography Opportunities

Action-packed and absolutely thrilling, of course, you want to capture a few pictures of your trip, maybe to keep as memories for the future or to show your family and friends when you get back. A ride over Kogatende is sure to offer you all the best opportunities to make this possible. Kogatende allows you to see and photograph the Great Wildebeest Migration barrelling through the plains on their way north, the impressive but deadly crossing of the Mara River, the picturesque landscape of the Ngorongoro Crater, and more. In addition, if you are lucky, you may also get the chance to take pictures of the famous Big Five and the plethora of other wild animals inhabiting the region. While visiting over areas may not have allowed you such a complete experience, Kogatende is a full package.

The Thrill of the Wild

The Kogatende region is the perfect safari win-win offering visitors the best of the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara National Reserve in one go. If you are looking to enjoy the thrill of a real adventure in the wild, booking a luxury tented camp, guided walk, or hot air balloon safari with us in the Kogatende area is a great compromise between the excitement of the wild and the luxury and safety provided by experienced operators.

Kogatende Views From Miracle experience balloon safari

Hot Air Balloon safari

To live this experience to the fullest, it is recommended to witness the action-packed Mara River crossing from a hot air balloon basket. A balloon safari over the plains and the sinuating silver river of Kogatende offers a vantage point unparalleled by any game drive. This bird’s eye view gives you the opportunity to take in the full extent of the largest coordinated movement of mammals in the world.

Part of what makes a hot air balloon safari over this region so unique is that it allows you to get closer than ever before to the crossing and its neighboring plains. While a game driver would need to stop at a distance to avoid disturbing and scaring away the animals with the sound of the engine, a hot air balloon flight gently follows the path of the wind, taking you closer to the animals than ever before while only switching on its burner when ready to sail further up.

A Hot Air Balloon safari is a great way of enjoying the full extent of the Kogatende region, and let’s not forget the famous bush breakfast and lunch. Miracle Experience has become well-known for its delightful breakfast and lunch services in the heart of the savannah. After gliding slowly to the ground, the safari trucks will pick you up and take you on a short drive to a pre-established spot in the wild where a fresh meal set-up complemented by chilled champagne or beverage will be waiting for you. In this once-in-a-lifetime moment, you will get the opportunity to share the most memorable parts of your trip with your loved ones and savor the adventure just a while longer.

If this is your first time flying in a hot air balloon ride, you should be aware of what to expect and be prepared for the adventure ahead. Here’s a quick, but comprehensive guide to getting ready for a Serengeti hot air balloon safari:

What should you know?

As the first piece of advice to first-time flyers worldwide, we recommend you book your safari in advance before you arrive in Tanzania. This ensures that we can adequately prepare for your arrival ahead of time. We suggest staying in the country for a couple of days after your booking date in case of any changes to your safari.

Hot Air Balloon flight depend on weather conditions, so we may have to cancel your flight if it rains or there are strong winds. Allowing a few extra days in the country will enable you to reschedule your excursion for a later date while still enjoying the fun and thrill of the adventure.

Briefing before a hot air balloon ride

Secondly, while you might worry about feeling cold during your ride, the altitude only shaves a few degrees off the ground temperature, which is usually compensated for by the heat of the burner and the beautiful sunrise. However, it is chilly on the way to the launch site. During summer, you might consider dressing lightly and bringing a spare jacket, and however, winter usually calls for more appropriate and protective clothing.

Thirdly, leave the motion sickness medicine in your drawer at the hotel. While flying at high altitudes for over an hour might seem daunting to some, the leisurely pace of a hot air balloon gliding with the breeze is so smooth and relaxing that motion sickness rarely happens. Similarly, if heights tend to be a problem for you, we would like to reassure you that the constant gentle movement of the balloon and the vastness of the plains ensure you won’t focus on that single point meters down, which might cause your stomach to drop into your socks.

We want to emphasize the landing, just like any other vehicle flying through the air. We have professional pilots on hand to inform and guide you through the entire process. Your hot air balloon ride will most likely descend slowly to the ground and settle upright, allowing you to climb out. Do not worry if the landing is a little bumpier than intended; this is normal. This should not dissuade you from taking this incredible journey.

Things you might consider before a hot air balloon ride:

Clothing

Seasonal temperatures and practicality are a few things to consider when choosing clothing for this trip. Let’s not forget that flying a hot air balloon over the Serengeti is an adventure, and like most excursions in the wild, comfortable clothing is the best way to go.

Depending on the season you visit, it might be most practical to consider wearing traditional safari clothing. This kind of clothing will have you covered for most weather conditions. In winter, you may need a few more layers, especially since take-off usually happens before dawn, and you might experience a slight chill.

backpacks in a hot air balloon ride

We would also recommend that you ensure your clothes are loose enough to provide a good range of motion. You will be asked to climb in and out of the wicker basket at take-off and landing, which might be a challenging feat if your clothes are too restraining.

Lastly, wear comfortable shoes such as cushioned sneakers as you will be standing for the duration of the ride and taking a few steps in the savannah for the bush breakfast. We suggest going in closed shoes.

Food & Beverages

You can bring your bottle of water or juice and a few snacks if you wish, but it is not always necessary as you will be offered coffee, water and biscuits before take-off and onboard. Also, we do not recommend drinking too many fluids before a hot air balloon ride. However, please ensure that your plastic bottles and wrappers do not fall off the basket if you wish to bring some food and beverages. As a company that actively tries to reduce its environmental impact, we seek your collaboration in being extra careful about your waste.

Backpack

A small backpack or bag is recommended to store your valuables and necessities that you do not want to carry with you on board. Our drivers will keep your belongings in the car. A small satchel, purse, or camera bag is usually enough as you do not need a lot of things for the trip.

happy faces before a hot air balloon ride

Camera

There will be much to photograph, from pre-flight preparations to safari and bush breakfast to the drive back to your hotel. A Hot Air Balloon Ride provides a distinct advantage over regular safaris; you will be able to spot and capture the unique landmarks of the Serengeti and its neighboring parks from a bird’s eye perspective. From a height, you will be able to grasp the sheer magnitude and feel of the Great Wildebeest Migration, the Mara River crossing, giant indigenous Baobab trees, and the parks’ booming wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, crocodiles, waterbucks and much more.

Photography in a hot air balloon ride

When it comes to capturing your memories of this trip, you pick your gear. Whether you wish to use your professional DSLR, a small camera, or even your smartphone is totally up to you. However, we advise you to properly secure your equipment with proper straps to avoid the risk of your camera falling overboard. Similarly, please carefully stow away your gear before touchdown, as your camera might fall and break in case of a rough landing.

Additional equipment

If you want to bring extra accessories such as selfie sticks, additional batteries, and memory cards for your devices, you can do so. However, please be mindful of the restricted space available in the wicker basket and the experience of other passengers flying with you.

Binoculars

For many Hot Air Balloon Ride safari fans, a pair of binoculars is one of the best pieces of equipment to bring on a hot air balloon ride. While you may easily spot the Great Migration from a distance, binoculars allow you to get a closer look at flora and fauna of the parks. Observe lions lounging in low branches, calves running around the bush, crocodiles in the Mara and Grumeti rivers, and much more while being unobstructed. Binoculars are offered onboard too.

Binoculars in a hot air balloon ride

Things to be mindful of:

Blankets

While we all love to be on the safe side, bringing blankets if you are afraid of being cold is not recommended. Bulky covers may take up a lot of space, and this may prevent you and others from moving around to enjoy the 360° view. If flying on your Hot Air Balloon Ride during winter, a few layers of clothing and the heat from the balloon’s burner should be enough to keep you warm.

Jewelry

Wearing jewelry is not usually restricted during hot air balloon ride safaris. However, we would like to remind passengers to ensure their precious belongings are safely stowed away or adequately fastened during the ride to prevent instances of bracelets or other pieces of jewelry slipping off and tainting your experience of this unique adventure.

Hats

In some cases, passengers like to bring a hat or cap to protect their heads from the burner’s heat or prevent their hair from blowing into their faces. While this is not compulsory, we recommend a slightly tight-fitting hat or baseball cap to ensure it does not fly off during the ride if you decide to cover your head.

hats in a hot air balloon ride

Bathroom Breaks

While we offer a light snack or coffee and biscuits before the Hot Air Balloon Ride flight, please note that drinking too many fluids is not recommended as you won’t be able to use any washroom facilities during the actual safari. You will have access to our famous toilet with a view of the breakfast site once you have landed.

An unsuspected oasis hidden to the North-West of the Serengeti, the Singita Grumeti Reserve is a well-kept secret among safari lovers. The remoteness of the site and the limited number of visitors and developments in the area have left the reserve almost completely untamed and unaffected by the touch of a man. It is a peaceful Eden where the animals live wild and are free to roam the broken savanna far from the throngs of tourists pouring into national parks every year. With its few luxury lodges and unique safari experiences, Singita Grumeti allows you to enjoy a quiet and exclusive but still absolutely thrilling tour of our beloved Serengeti

Covering 411km² of the bush, this secluded site is a prime spot to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration as they roam from the endless plains of the Serengeti on their way to the Maasai Mara. While probably less famous than the Mara River crossing, the reserve is also witnessing some jaw-snapping action as millions of wildebeest attempt to pass the Grumeti River and its hungry crocodiles. Singita Grumeti Reserve is also home to the Big Five: the lion, the leopard, the rhino, the elephant, and the African buffalo which can easily be spotted either on a game drive or while soaring above the golden plains on a hot air balloon ride.

About Singita Grumeti Reserve

The Grumeti Game Reserve was founded in 1994 by the government of Tanzania in an effort to protect the Great Wildebeest Migration routes from possible developments. The conservation rights have, since 2002, been bestowed upon the Grumeti Fund which is now in charge of managing and protecting its flourishing bio-diversity. Despite its small surface and remote location, the Singita Grumeti Reserve Game is a vital part of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The home of an abundance of different indigenous species, the locals, professional conservationists, and tour operators all join forces in maintaining and honoring this sanctuary.

The region is mostly secluded but boasts a selection of luxury eco-lodges and campsites that are sure to awaken your taste for both adventure and fine things. With constant hope for the survival of the Singita Grumeti Reserve, the accommodations are deeply committed to their vision of low-impact tourism focused on sustainability, wildlife conservation, and the protection of the flora. The eco and adventure tourists brought by these lodges greatly contribute to the reserve and its surroundings by providing employment to the local community and the necessary funds to ensure this piece of wilderness remains protected.

These carnivores are often spotted lounging in groups in the short grass or resting in the branches of low trees. The passage of the Great Migration naturally invites all the big cats to come out and play. Lions, leopards, and cheetahs as well as hyenas and wild dogs all converge on the plains in search of their next meal.

Singita Grumeti Reserve also boasts an equally wide range of herbivores that often fall prey to the many predators that roam the plains. Giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeests, waterbucks, antelopes, and more share the fresh grass and water holes of the reserve. Herds of elephants also stomp through the plains of Grumeti in large numbers, sometimes reaching up to 50 per group. These gentle giants have even been spotted casually drinking from the pools of some lodges to the delight of the residents.

In the Riverine region, the black and white colobus monkeys have taken residence in the dense forest trees. Among the least aggressive primates found, these herbivores are usually seen playing in the trees, using the branches as trampolines, or lazily sunbathing.

A Private Serengeti

Far from the throngs of tourists pouring into national parks, the Singita Grumeti Reserve is a unique opportunity to experience a private tour of the Serengeti. Having suffered close to no human alterations, Grumeti has no road and allows for a real adventure with its off-road game drives. What one can observe from a hot air balloon’s vantage point is a totally wild and untouched bush; a real haven where animals and humans are free to roam.

Walking

To enjoy a different safari experience, a walking guided tour is a great way to observe the reserve’s booming flora and fauna up close. Qualified guides and trackers will help you learn about the diverse variety of colorful birds as well as indigenous plants and their many uses. You might also get the chance to see some giraffes feeding on nearby trees, elephants playing in the waterholes, and many other memorable encounters. The safety of visitors is a priority and bush walks are only allowed when accompanied by guides who have experience in exploring areas with dangerous wildlife.

Game drives

The Singita Grumeti Reserve is famous for its impressive wildlife, the area is one of the most diversely populated regions in Africa. Game drives provide an amazing opportunity to witness and follow the Great Wildebeest Migration. You can also book a special night drive with a qualified tour operator and discover the safari experience after sundown when the plains have cooled from the day’s harsh sun and the animals come out of the shade. Game-driven vehicles are usually equipped with torches and lamps to help you spot the different animals in the bush.

Best Times to Visit Grumeti

While the Grumeti Game Reserve is a real treat all year round, the best time to visit could vary from person to person. For some, the period of June to July is the best as it offers a certain chance of spotting the Great Wildebeest Migration having just crossed the Mara River on their way North. During these months, you will get the opportunity to witness millions of wildebeests, gazelles, and impalas as they attempt to pass the Grumeti River to reach green pastures.

While Grumeti is a quiet and rarely packed safari location, some travelers still prefer to visit between September and October. As the migration has already passed through the reserve, a few groups of wildebeests can still be seen roaming around the bush along with other animals. This period is usually a better fit for visitors who prefer a slightly off-peak season.

If you can’t fly out to Grumeti during these few months, this is not a problem. The reserve has a lot of wonderful sightings and expeditions to offer all year round.

Tarangire National Park is Situated a few miles to the South East of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks, the Tarangire Park stretches over miles of savannah, kopjes, and swamps. Named after the Tarangire River flowing through it, the park is home to a plethora of wild animals and boasts the largest elephant population in the area. Although significantly smaller than its neighbors, Tarangire is considered one of the most underrated parks in Tanzania.

Here are 6 reasons why you should visit the Tarangire:

Tarangire National Park view of Elephants

The Gentle Giants of Tarangire National Park

Did you know that the collective noun for a group of elephants can either be a ‘herd’ or a ‘memory’? This is due to the discovery that these magnificent mammals have incredible memories which allow them to remember humans and other elephants for years and years.

The Tarangire National Park has grown famous for its dense population of elephants. The dry season of June to October sees herds of up to 300 assemble and dig across the dried-up riverbed in search of underground water. Due to their large numbers, elephants remain easy to spot even during the wet season when the other animals of Tarangire tend to spread out across the plains.

Tarangire National Park baobab view

Indigenous Baobab Trees

The Tarangire park is said to have some of the oldest baobabs dating back to about 1000 years old. With sturdy trunks of up to 11 meters in diameter and a height reaching 30 meters, baobabs are both an iconic mark of the African landscape and a key element of the ecosystem. Known as ‘The Tree of Life’, this imposing giant helps keep the soil humid during dry seasons and provides food, water, and shelter to multiple birds, insects, and small reptiles.

2nd Largest Wildlife Population

The Tarangire National Park is the 2nd largest wildlife population after the Serengeti. Home to wildebeests, leopards, cheetahs, lions, wild dogs, cape buffalos, giraffes, baboons, monkeys, elephants, and many more, this relatively small plot of land is buzzing with life all year round.

The park also shelters three endangered species which can be found nowhere else in Tanzania, namely the fringe-eared oryx, the greater kudu, and the ashy starling.

The dry season brings plenty of viewing opportunities as the diverse wildlife gathers around waterholes and riverbanks in search of fresh water. If you are lucky, you may even have the chance to spot one of Tarangire’s famous tree-climbing pythons nestled in the low branches as the swamps dry up.

Ornithology Heaven

Thanks to its abundance of trees and habitats, Tarangire is a haven for over 550 species of birds, the largest number in Tanzania. Birdwatching enthusiasts are frequently attracted to the park for its wide variety and the ease with which you can spot them. From hoopoes, hornbills, white-bellied go-away birds, and yellow-collared lovebirds to kori bustards, steppe eagles, and lappet-faced vultures among others, the park is a true ornithology heaven.

Changing Landscape

With its sinuating river, plains swamps, grassland, kopjes, and plethora of indigenous trees, the landscape of the Tarangire National Park is a kaleidoscope. Varying between an open savannah, spots of green pastures, and the flat swamps to the South West of the park, the Tarangire will never get boring. In addition, the huge baobab trees, the flowering sausage trees with their poisonous fruits, and the famous acacia trees are the final touches of this picturesque scenery.

As global warming remains one of the most pressing concerns of our generation its important to focus on sustainable tourism, technological advancements have allowed us to transform energy from renewable sources such as the sun and wind into power and electricity as alternatives to fossil fuels which continue to damage our planet.

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa with Electrical Cars for sustainable tourism

Evolving with its time, Miracle Experience proudly introduces its brand new E-safari vehicle. As a hot air balloon safari company that cares deeply about the Serengeti and its ecosystem for sustainable tourism, our new e-vehicle uses the power of the sun to recharge, hence fueling the next step in our efforts to provide a service that is both respectful of the environment and non-obstructive to the wildlife of the national park.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint for sustainable tourism

This initiative enables Miracle Experience to perform our daily operations while simultaneously reducing our carbon footprint. Using solar energy, green vehicles have zero emission levels as they do not consume and burn non-renewable fuels which are responsible for a significant portion of the greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere daily.

Beyond its ecological advantages, our E-safari vehicle also ensures that all parts of our expeditions do not disrupt the wildlife of the Serengeti. While hot air balloon safaris have the advantage of allowing close encounters with the animals without scaring them off, the sound of safari trucks has often proved to be disruptive. Vehicles running on solar energy, however, are completely soundless ensuring all aspects of our safaris are eco-friendly and without stress for the fauna and thus enhance sustainable tourism.

Miracle Experience Balloon safaris Cars offering sustainable tourism

Perfectly adapted to our needs, our e-vehicle is taken out before dawn to pick up our clients and bring them soundlessly to the launch site. After their flight in our hot air balloons, they are driven to a luxurious breakfast in the bush before being dropped back to their hotels or camps by midday. The truck then has ample time to recharge under the sun before its next trip the following morning.

This month, we would like to take the time to appreciate the people who flew with us and their heartwarming reviews and giving us a Miracle Experience balloon Safaris is a Lifetime Memory. It is always a pleasure for us to fly over the mythical Serengeti and even more so to share it with our clients.

One of a Kind Adventure for A Lifetime Memory

Zainab and her companion set out for their hot air balloon safari in the early hours before dawn. After a short security briefing, warming up with a steaming cup of coffee, the two travelers from Dar Es Salaam hopped into their basket and set off for this one-of-a-kind adventure. Smoothly rising above the plains, they got the opportunity to witness the sunrise reflected across the winding rivers and lighting up the endless plains brimming with life.

Among some of the highlights of their flight, the wildlife stood out: the deafening hoofbeat of the great wildebeest migration, the elegant towers of giraffes galloping across the savannah, the contrasting black and white stripes of the zebras against the yellowed grass, and more.

Not for the faint of heart but an absolutely natural part of life in the wild, witnessing a hyena kill is also among some of the rare and striking sights of some hot air balloon safaris.

Here are some of the highlights of our different balloon safari Serengeti flight routes:

elephants as seen from Hot Air Balloon Safari

Seronera

Forming the central part of the Serengeti, the Seronera region offers a year-round game viewing opportunity. Well known for its abundance of lions, leopards and cheetahs, the Seronera Valley is sometimes known as the Big Cat Capital.

While lions can often be spotted around the indigenous kopjes scattered around the grassland, cheetahs and leopards have chosen the territory of the Seronera River banks as a source of fresh water and a rallying point for many animals in the area. The vast plains of the central Serengeti and its rivers and swamps are also home to a wide fauna, such as elephants, buffaloes, impalas and more, which travel and thrive among the tall grass, with balloon safari Serengeti you can see it all.

Miracle Experience Hot Air Balloon

Kogatende

From June to November, Hot air Balloon flying over the Mara River and the Northern Serengeti gives the perfect opportunity to witness the famous wildebeest crossing. Every year, thousands of wildebeests attempt to make their way across the river during their migration in search of greener pastures.

This spectacle has been known as one of the most extraordinary sightings one might spot through the Great Migration. The herds often fall prey to the basks of crocodiles living along the Mara River. While this may not be a sight for sensitive eyes, this show of nature is undoubtedly one of the memorable scenes of a flight over Kogatende.

Ndutu

Back to the Southern region of the Serengeti, December to March usually marks the return of the wildebeests. Moving back to the low grass plains of the Ndutu Region, the wildebeests and other animals need the nutrient-rich pastures for the calving season. Yet again, another awe-inspiring scene of the Serengeti and its plains, lakes and woodlands, Hot air Balloon flying over thousands of animals and their newly born calves is a sight you won’t forget. For those interested in a little more action, the calving season also means a lot of hunting opportunities for the cheetahs, leopards and lions which hunt in these regions.

Kirawira

The Grumeti River can be found along the Western corridor of the Serengeti. The Great Migration will usually reach this region around June and begin the perilous crossing of the river. Their progression is slowed and sometimes even halted at this point due to the specially large crocodiles and other predators living along the river and its banks which take a toll on the herds. Hot air Balloon Flying over this area offers a close and unique encounter with the wildebeests.

Two Miracle Experience Hot Air Balloons

COMING SOON!

Tarangire Hot air Balloon Safari

Miracle Experience Hot air Balloon is glad to announce that we will be adding an all-year flight to Tarangire to our list of destinations as from June 2021. You’ll get to enjoy a serene flight over this majestic national park and gaze at its ancient 100ft Baobab trees, herds of elephants, water holes and more.

It was on a clear morning, on the 8th of September, that Ally and his loved ones set out for a truly miraculous experience. These locals living in Dar Es Salaam travelled to Arusha to enjoy and discover the treasures of the Serengeti through their own eyes for the first time. While the endless plains of the Serengeti and its vibrant fauna are part of the cultural heritage of the locals, it is still a surprise to notice that not all Tanzanians have had the chance to lay eyes on its secrets.

It was thus with great excitement that Ally and his team hopped aboard one of our hot air balloons on this Tuesday morning, shortly before sunrise. Gently rising into the air, the group got their first glimpse of the still-dark plains before the sun gradually peaked over the horizon to gently wake up the grasslands. Guided by their pilot, the group was able to safely enjoy this once in a lifetime adventure, spotting various animals hidden in the wild before gently touching down in the middle of the Serengeti. The group was then treated to a five star breakfast in the bush.

Here’s what Ally had to say:

“Where do I even start? An experience that stays in the heart forever. We had a wonderful flight on the 8th of sept 2020. The pilot spotted animals we would never have seen by ourselves, super alert. It’s a once in a lifetime trip, but now i’m having thoughts of going again. The bush breakfast is the icing on the cake. Special thanks to the reservation’s manager, Mr. Sammy, for the incredible preparations. Always there to assist and make plans better every time. An item off the bucket list. Miracle Experience Balloon Safari, the name speaks for itself. Kudos to you all.”

Ally and his loved ones are some of our latest locals who have made the voyage to uncover the beauty of this mythical place. The Miracle Experience team is always glad to help the local community enjoy what is rightfully theirs. The Serengeti is the heart of Tanzania and so should the people have the opportunity to cross this adventure off their bucket list.
